Definition of Explanation Text :

Explanation text is a text that explains the way or process of something happened,especially those related to natural phenomena,the scientific world, or socio-cultural.

Purpose of Explanation Text :

The purpose of explanation text is to tell the reader how something happened

Characteristic features of Explanation Text :

- Usually use the simple present tense

- Use passive voice

- Using noun phrases and active verbs

- Use chronological connector

- Use adverbial phrase

Generic Structure of Explanation Text :

- A General Statement

Contains general information about the topic to be discussed in the text.

- A Sequenced Explanation 

Contains a series of events (sequence of events) of a process which is the topic of the text. We can also explain using why and how questions, so that our explanation is more comprehensive.

- Closing / Concluding

The closing or closing section is optional or does not have to be in this text. This section may contain additional information or the author's opinion on the topics covered.

SHORT MOVIE SYNOPSIS ~

The short movie tells story of a boy who rather spends his time indoors playing video games instead of discovering what's waiting in front of the door. One day his mom decides to get a little surprise for her son, which makes it hard for him to concentrate on his video game. The surprise the boy receives is an adorable,playful puppy who has a disability. The boy tries to concentrate on his video games as the puppy attempts to convince him to play , but is eventually won over by the pup's determination and resilience.
